Introduction To Certification Seminar - Nov 8-11, 2019-SOLD OUT
Students will work independently with Sue Pruett, MDA using past Certification designs in their category with teacher assistance. Students will gain a greater understanding of how to plan a painting including but not limited to: color schemes, color harmony, temperature, value relationships, background color choices, blending, how to control intensities, stroke-work and overall effect. This Seminar will be held at the SDP home office located in Wichita, Kansas.
Class size is limited for individualized attention.
Objectives
To inform applicants about the Certification program, the judging process and explain what the judges look for based on the critique form.
To explain the Standards process that was set in 1985 and how the submissions are judged compared to the Standard 75%, 65% and 55%.
The Certification program encourages independent thinking in all areas of art.
This seminar will provide an opportunity to learn how to plan a painting using a checklist of artistic concepts and also principles related to the Certification critique form: Overall Effect, Color Management, Blending Skills, Stroke Control, Value Control, Intensity Control, Line-work and Detail, Background, Frame, Neatness and Finish.
