Gentle Reminders for Certification Applicants
- Have you purchased your Portfolio?
- Do you know where your portfolio is?
- Have you opened it?
- Have you decided on your approach and color scheme?
- Are you having trouble making the commitment?
Hints for getting started:
- Establish a timeline for when you will start your painting and when you expect to finish. Clear your
calendar in order to concentrate on the painting.
- Make reduction of the design and do a grayscale rendition, with pencil, to have a 3-D copy to refer
to when painting.
- Having trouble with the color scheme? Refer to magazines, wallpaper books, shop in fabric stores
to get your creative juices flowing.
- Paint a ½ size copy of the design, limiting yourself to 1 hour, just to get an idea of a light source,
color flow, shadows (where appropriate), etc.
We hope that these help! Look for future communications covering the subjects of:
- What, if anything, can I change?
- Do I have to paint EVERYTHING drawn in the design?
- What about that Critique? What does it really do for me?
- What tools, if any, can I use?
